Color Me So Ashamed

I know. I start a blog and then vanish. Not very nice of me. It is just that it has been so hot here in Texas. Too hot to knit. So I swished to Ice Dyeing as my summer hobby.

Before I show you pictures of Ice Dyeing, here is an inexpensive storage idea I found on Pinterest.

Unfortunately I have only one closet and one hanging/drawer unit so closet space is very valuable. I might see if I can find a really thin one like for shoes or purses.

So on to the Ice Dyeing. Here are a few that I have dyed.

Oh yes. I'm definitely having fun. I'll tell you more about Ice Dyeing in my next post.

Ice dying looks a little like tie dying but I'm getting you freeze the clothes?!!! Can't wait to read all about it.

The Diary of a Scarf Knitter.

I knit because it fulfills me.

I knit when I'm happy, stressed, bored, and even hungry. In other words, knitting suits just about any circumstance in my life. I can choose to knit for 10 minutes, an hour or all day if the situation calls for it.

I only knit scarves now. I reached this decision after reading a post on a blog (I wish I knew where so I could give credit) where she said that all she knitted was scarves. They fit into her lifestyle and she refused to feel guilty about not making something fancy or complicated. From then on, I gave myself permission to knit what I enjoyed knitting the most – scarves.

Some people make beautiful, intricate pieces of clothing. I wish that worked with my life, but it doesn't so although I love to see beautiful knitted pieces, I just knit scarves. They really are a diary of my life and times.

And, since I knit so many, I give them away, sell a few and look for any homeless person on the street whose life would be vastly improved by the gift of one of my scarves. Also if you know a non-profit group that would share knitted scarves, I will be glad to share the info on this site.
